نامۀ سرگشاده شاهزاده رضا پهلوی  به دبیرکل سازمان ملل متحد عالیجناب بان کی مون سوم تیرماه ۱۳۹۰ عالیجناب بان کی مون                 دبیر کل محترم سازمان ملل متحد: قصدم از نوشتن این نامه این است که تجاوز فاحش و مستمر دولت جمهوری اسلامی ایران را به حقوق و آزادی های اساسی مردم ایران به جناب عالی یادآور شوم. مطمئن باشید که در نوشتن این نامه انگیزه ای جز بازتابیدن صدای حق جویانۀ میلیون ها تن از هم میهنانم نداشته ام؛ میلیون ها زن و مردی که با تحمل خطرهای بی شمار، از آزار و زندان گرفته تا شکنجه و کشتار، از اعتراض به رفتار هولناک حاکمان ایران نما و دشمن خوی خویش دست برنداشته اند. رژیمی که در بی رحمی و خونریزی به یقین بدیلی برایش در تاریخ بلند ایران نمی توان یافت.    در هفته های اخیر، موجی تازه از خشونت ها و سرکوبی های وحشیانه و وصف ناشدنی، صدها تن دیگر از روزنامه نگاران، نویسندگان  کوشندگان حقوق بشر، که جز حقگوئی و حق جوئی گناهی ندارنــد، یا اسیر زنــدان شده اند و یا قربانی شکنجه های دلخراش و اعدام های برق آسا و مخفیانه. از میان آنان از هاله سحابی، و هدی صابر یاد می کنم. نخستین، هنگام شرکت در مراسم خاکسپاری و سوگواری پدرخویش که زبان به انتقاد از حاکمان غاصب گشوده بود، آماج حملۀ خشونت بار مأموران رژیم شد و جان باخت و آن دیگر در اعتصاب غذا در زندان و محرومیت از دارو و درمان. این دو نیز، چون دیگر قربانیان رژیم گناهی جز اعتراض به سرکوبی های بی امان و تجاوزهای روزانه و روزافزونش به آزادی ها و حقوق خود نداشتند.  جناب آقای دبیر کل:    من در این نامه مایلم از جنابعالی، که در مقام خود معرّف و پاسدار والاترین ارزش های جامعۀ بین الملل اید، تقاضا کنم به صدای اعتراض مردم دربند ایران بیشتر از پیش توجه کنید و، با عنایت به یکی از مهمترین هدف های سازمان ملل متحد، که در بند ۳ از مادۀ ۱ منشور این سازمان تصریح شده است، رهبــران جمهوری اسلامی ایــران را فــرا خوانید که «حقوق و آزادی های اساسی مردم ایران را بدون هیچگونه تبعیض نژادی، جنسیتی، قومی و مذهبی محترم» شمرند.   به احتمال بسیار، دعوت شما در گوش های ناشنوای رهبرانی که با زبانی جز زبان خشونت آشنائی ندارند طنینی نخواهد داشت و پاسخی نخواهد گرفت. امّا، اطمینان داشته باشید که این دعوت در ذهن و قلب همۀ آنانی که تشنۀ زندگی در صلح و امنیت و آزادی اند بازتابی بس پرطنین و پرشور خواهد داشت، به ویژه در دل مردم ایران که بیشتر از یک قرن پیش برای دسترسی به حقوق و آزادی های خود دلیرانه کوشیدند و زودتر از هر جامعۀ دیگری در خاورمیانه نیز به بسیاری از آن ها دست یافتند.     تجاوز مستمر و خشونت بار به این آزادی ها و حقوق آشکارا مهمترین هدف رژیم جمهوری اسلامی در همۀ سال های درازی بوده است که از تولد نامبارکش می گذرد. دشمنی بی امان رهبران جمهوری اسلامی با حقوق بشر خود مهم ترین انگیــزۀ سرپیچی کــامل آنان از اجــرای همۀ تعهدات بین المللی است که دولت های ایران  برای تأمین و تضمین این حقوق بر عهده گرفته بوده اند.  جناب آقای دبیر کل: هرچه بر دامنه و شدّت تجاوز رژیم نسبت به آزادی ها و حقوق مردم ایران افزوده می شود، خطرهای بیشتر و هولناک تری جان زندانیان سیاسی ایران را تهدید خواهند کرد. ازهمین روست که آزادی هرچه زودتر آنان ضرورت و فوریت بیشتری می یابد. امیدوارم جنابعالی بتوانید با بهره جوئی از همۀ امکاناتی که در اختیار دارید تحقق این هدف را میسر کنید.    با احترام و امید به دریافت پاسخ مساعد جنابعالی به این نامه،   رضا پهلوی P.O. I assure you that in doing so I am carrying the voice of millions of my compatriots who, at the risk to their life and liberty, continue to condemn these horrendous acts committed by the most brutal regime in the long annals of Iran's long history.   In a new wave of officially sanctioned violence across Iran, both within and without prisons, scores of journalists, human rights advocates and university students have lost their lives. Among the latest victims have been Haleh Sahabi, who was attacked, while attending her father's funeral services, by the regime's security agents and Hoda Saber who died in prison while in hunger strike protesting the murder of Ms Sahabi. At the writing of this letter, untold number of political prisoners in Tehran have gone on hunger strike to protest and condemn, once again, the regime's unconscionable and pervasive suppression of all peaceful expressions of dissent by the most vile and violent means.    Your Excellency,   I would like to urge you, as the most prominent representative of the community of nations, to become the voice of my suffering and suppressed compatriots. I beseech you to embody one of the highest purposes of the organization you represent - spelled clearly in Article 1, Paragraph 3 of the Charter- by publically calling on the leaders of the Islamic Republic of Iran to "respect human rights and fundamental freedoms for all without distinction as to race, sex, language, or religion." Your call will, in all likelihood, be totally ignored or rebuffed by the violence prone leaders of the regime. But it will be heard by all who yearn for the right to live in peace and freedom, particularly by the Iranian people who struggled for and gained their rights more than a century ago, sooner than any other people in the Middle East. However, continuous and increasingly violent breaches of these fundamental human rights have clearly been the primary objective of the Islamic regime since its establishment 32 years ago. These breaches highlight and confirm the regime's utter disregard of all its obligations under various international conventions and treaties on civil and political rights.   I express my compatriots' most fervent wish by impressing upon your Excellency the urgency of your swift and explicit call on the leaders of the Islamic Republic of Iran to free forthwith all political prisoners in the country and to stop violations of human rights enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations and explicitly enumerated in so many binding international instruments.   Looking forward to hearing your Excellency's favorable attention to this letter,   Sincerely,     Reza Pahlavi
